Blokes In Boats
Blokes in Boats 2024
Sadly we have come to the end of the 2024 Blokes in Boats season.
We have been fortunate to have “entertained” 25 different Blokes some of whom have come along for 5 or more times.
Hopefully it has been not only entertaining but also informative and helping to get a little more time on the water for all involved. Some previous “Blokes” have now gone on to join in Club Racing, thus expanding the Racing Fleets.
Lasers are more difficult to rig up than simpler boats and, on occasions, have proven to be a bit of a trial because some of the boats are privately owned and are rigged in slightly different ways. However, we have been extremely lucky to have been able to borrow, not only the three Club boats, but others from very generous loanees, namely, Robert Odling, Neil O’May, Wade Hindell, Alex King, and Richard Batten. Without their generosity the Blokes in Boats would not have been anywhere near as successful so,
Thank you Gentlemen.
And also a big thank you to those who have given up their time this season to help out with Blokes in Boats
Whilst no dates have yet been decided upon, we are expecting Blokes in Boats to continue in 2025, so we shall look forward to doing it all again next year.
See you then

“If you want to learn how to sail the right way up, Blokes in Boats is a great environment in which to get a solid start or refresher. With a great support team, and a bunch of sailors at a similar level, who do it for the fun of it and without any pressure”. Clive
“Blokes in boats. What a wonderful welcome to the club it was. I had experts teaching from zero to hero for free! All gratefully received from club members giving up their free time and knowledge with the club providing the boats. All in the price of the membership. Thank you to William and all. Can’t wait for this season.” John
“A great way to learn how to sail! Expert tuition and great fun with a happy group of sailors” Alan
